In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different – Coco Chanel
I am sure you have heard this Coco quote before, but it came to the forefront of my mind while studying the new styles on SockTheory and when considering how best to get acquainted with them.

There are a bunch of new items that we posted about a month ago and I never got a chance to really add insight into the new socks and tights that are available NOW!  The last photo shoot was done at the beach and I was FREEZING!!  It was a blistry cold April day and I was shivering and shaking the whole time!  Brrr…

Firstly, I have to talk about these tights, because I can't stop thinking about them, wearing them, and bragging about them!  Pothole backseam tights!  You can wear the "potholes" in the front or the back.  If you want to attract attention/make a statement/have random people running down the street screaming OMG those are the sexiest tights I have EVER SEEN!!!  Then these are the tights for you.  They are beautifully made of soft, almost like microfiber, fabric and the hole are sewn perfectly, so there is no danger of unraveling around each hole.  The fabric is so dark that the holes serve as almost pinpoints of light running down your leg, like having “good” lighting installed into an otherwise dull room, suddenly the room comes to life, and that is what the Pothole Backseam Tights were made for!

Second, EG Smith is quickly becoming one of my favorite designers.  Though at this time we only carry one style, but they captured by attention almost immediately.  You can wear them as Over Knee Socks, scrunch them down around your calf or allllll the way to your ankles!  The texture is soft, but distinct and adds a depth to whatever outfit you pair them with.

Finally, some of the most beautiful socks I have ever seen, the Pee-a-Boo OTK’s from Betsy Johnson!!  Either color will have you  feeling confident, but still daity as a damsel froliching through an open field ;)If you have any products that you have questions about, or want to know more about, comment on this post!!<3

  • Socks 4 Spring

Posted on March 22, 2010 by Nylon Journal

In the springtime, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding a ding; Sweet lovers love the spring. - William Shakespeare
Happy Spring Everyone! Spring is one of my favorite times of year. It is like a jail break from the confines of our homes, cars, subway tunnels, thick coats, chunky sweaters, heavy boots, and layer after layer of clothing in which we are imprisoned by the bitter cold! All I want to do strip these chains away & run into the great outdoors screaming "FREEDOM!!!" - William Wallace.

You know you feel it, some people call it "Spring Fever" and I totally hear that expression, I mean, it is like a burning, an intense yearning to break free of the bondage of winter and embrace the streets, parks, backyards, outdoor cafes, etc. which we have been basically banned from since mid-November. Now you can eat your lunch on a park bench; if you arrive early to an engagement and have to wait outside - you don't mind waiting because you can bask in the sunlight or breathe in the warm twilight breeze and it is OK because it is lovely, warm & comfortable outside! (Some of us roll down our car windows and ignore the rules of the road!) I could go on and on..... Basically, I am totally excited that Spring is upon us!

Ankle high socks are a great look for Spring. They are bright and cute and keep your ankles warm even in your pumps! Right now these French Dots Ankle Socks are my ABSOLUTE favorite. I like to wear mine with a flowy or pleated skirt and usually my black bow shoes. They also look fabulous with a wedge!

Of course once Spring hits, you want to break out all your lighter clothing, however, there are those days that are not quite warm enough for all your Spring wear such as flip flops and short sleeved shirts. One solution I have found for this problem is leg warmers with open toes or tabbi leg warmers. "Crochet Lover" is my personal favourite. However, for going out I tend towards the Aztec leg warmers which allow me to wear my flip flops or thong sandles without shivering my ankles off & I am still free from my winter weather bondage!
