In the springtime, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding a ding; Sweet lovers love the spring. - William Shakespeare
Happy Spring Everyone! Spring is one of my favorite times of year. It is like a jail break from the confines of our homes, cars, subway tunnels, thick coats, chunky sweaters, heavy boots, and layer after layer of clothing in which we are imprisoned by the bitter cold! All I want to do strip these chains away & run into the great outdoors screaming "FREEDOM!!!" - William Wallace.

You know you feel it, some people call it "Spring Fever" and I totally hear that expression, I mean, it is like a burning, an intense yearning to break free of the bondage of winter and embrace the streets, parks, backyards, outdoor cafes, etc. which we have been basically banned from since mid-November. Now you can eat your lunch on a park bench; if you arrive early to an engagement and have to wait outside - you don't mind waiting because you can bask in the sunlight or breathe in the warm twilight breeze and it is OK because it is lovely, warm & comfortable outside! (Some of us roll down our car windows and ignore the rules of the road!) I could go on and on..... Basically, I am totally excited that Spring is upon us!

Ankle high socks are a great look for Spring. They are bright and cute and keep your ankles warm even in your pumps! Right now these French Dots Ankle Socks are my ABSOLUTE favorite. I like to wear mine with a flowy or pleated skirt and usually my black bow shoes. They also look fabulous with a wedge!

Of course once Spring hits, you want to break out all your lighter clothing, however, there are those days that are not quite warm enough for all your Spring wear such as flip flops and short sleeved shirts. One solution I have found for this problem is leg warmers with open toes or tabbi leg warmers. "Crochet Lover" is my personal favourite. However, for going out I tend towards the Aztec leg warmers which allow me to wear my flip flops or thong sandles without shivering my ankles off & I am still free from my winter weather bondage!

  • Rug up!

Posted on February 28, 2010 by Nylon Journal

IT HAS BEEN A WHILE since I have written, and my big excuse is that we had a bouquet of NEW products come in and I have been busy shooting/editing photos! Hope you enjoy them, and if you have any photo location ideas or ideas for what I should wear in a shoot please comment or e-mail me at info@socktheory.com.

A NEW addition to our catologue of products is Arm Warmers. Arm Warmers are one of my favorite accessories. My favorite time to wear them is in the Fall and Spring. Particularly because I hate wearing bulky winter winter clothing and coats, especially when the weather is unpredictable. When I wear a heavy coat, guaranteed THAT day will be at least 10 degrees warmer AND THEN I'll either be carrying my coat around or soaked like I just got done sweating it to the oldies. If I don't wear a coat, it will be freezing cold and I'll be shivering the entire day. Brrr....

Arm warmers have become a great solution for me! They are perfect for those days when I'm unsure about the weather or how cold the restaurant will be??? If you work in a cold showroom or office, arm warmers allow you to have your fingers free to type and work and still be comfy and warm. BTW I am wearing my new Rug Up Arm Warmers as I compose this post - my hands are toasty warm! I am always cold so this is perfect for me, BUT if I get too balmy, I simply strip them off instead of having 2 sweat through the day in my stuffy sweater or hot shirt which can't just be stripped off your body whereever you are!

Our new Rug Up Arm Warmers are even cuter then I could have hoped! They are about 11 inchs long reaching from where the knitted fabric meets my knuckles to 2 or 3 inches below my elbow (varies depending on the length of your arm). You can wear then stretched all the way out or slouched down around your wrist! Personally, I prefer them slouched, but if it's cold, I am stretching them all the way up! The Rug Up's are made of 65%cotton, 20%acrylic, 15%nylon. Super soft, cozy with neatly knitted cuffs; pretty and dainty with a perfectly separated thumb, leaving my fingers free for typing, texting, digging keys out of your bag, and whatever else you might need your fingers EXPOSED for! ;)

Another bonus of Arm Warmers is that they can double as Leg Warmers with a separated toe! Sooo now you can to wear your NEW Leg warmers with flip flops! Perfect for the Spring and Fall seasons, when you want to start/keep wearing your flip flops, but it is a bit chilly for your whole leg or ankles to be stranded in the nippy air.
